Tom - Owner
I am the 3rd generation owner of Akron Pest Control. I have been the owner since 2001. I am the grandson of Darrell Pursell who began Akron Pest Control in 1945. I live in the Akron area and have been around Akron Pest Control my entire life. I am married to Margaret and have two awesome children. I believe in honoring my grandfather’s philosophy of always treating our customers with great respect as well as taking excellent care of our team members. This philosophy has built Akron Pest Control to 75 years strong and will continue to be our goal for many years to come! Thank you for choosing Akron Pest Control.
Margaret - Office Manager
Margaret and I have been married since 1999. Margaret is a Penn State Graduate and decided to retire from her job as a Research and Development manager in 2004 to become our office manager. She handles the day-to-day office operations, answers the phones and does all the scheduling for Akron Pest Control. Margaret always has a genuine concern for our customers as well as our technicians. She is graciously dedicated to the success of the Akron Pest Control philosophy!
Paula - Office Assistant
Paula is the Mother of Tom and also the Daughter of Darrell who began Akron Pest Control. Paula offers part-time help with the office duties as well as all billing for Akron Pest Control. Paula retired from Roadway in Akron and has been a great member of the team and keeps the Family philosophy present each and every day!
Pam - Office Assistant
Pam joined the Akron Pest Control team in 2015. She is the lead sales person on the phone. Pam assists in keeping all the quarterly, 3-season customers on the schedule. She offers her help wherever it is needed in the office. Pam is a full team player; you may even see her in the field treating for your pests!!
Roger - Lead Service Manager
Roger has been with Akron Pest Control since 2004. Roger is a life-long friend of mine. Roger is our lead termite, residential technician as well as our lead wildlife trapper. Over the years Roger has seen many, many interesting pest control issues and through his experiences and dedication Roger has become one of the top pest control specialists in the area. He is often the managing technician on the more difficult pest issues. Roger is licensed as a commercial applicator through the Ohio Department of Agriculture and he is also licensed through the Ohio Division of Wildlife for nuisance animal trapping.
Ray - Commercial Service Manager/Sales Lead
Ray joined the Akron Pest Control team in 2009. He is my Uncle and has been someone I have looked up to all my life. Ray is a major utility team member. He is a commercial and residential technician, a lead sales representative, and special project manager. He also answers the phones and assists with scheduling. Ray specializes in structuring pest control programs and solutions to meet all the commercial customer’s needs and expectations. Ray is licensed through the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a commercial applicator and he is licensed with the Ohio Division of Wildlife for nuisance animal trapping.
Brian - Lead Bed Bug & Termite Service Technician
Brian was with Akron Pest Control from 2000 to 2007, he left us to pursue a lifelong dream to own his own auto body shop. He returned to Akron Pest Control in 2011 and has been a crucial team member ever since. He is also a life-long friend of mine. Brian has become an expert in Bed Bug detection and treatments. He has been vital in the success of the development of Akron Pest Control’s bed bug treatment program. Brian is also a lead termite technician. Brian is licensed through the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a commercial applicator and he is licensed with the Ohio Division of Wildlife for nuisance animal trapping.
Ryan - Service Technician
Ryan joined the Akron Pest Control team in 2016. He was a Store manager for a large auto parts store for many years. He decided he wanted to change his career and join a small family owned and operated business where his dedication and commitment would be appreciated. Ryan brought a high level of management experience to Akron Pest Control and he has become a great residential and commercial technician. Ryan is also a highly respected soccer coach in his local community. Ryan is licensed through the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a commercial applicator and he is licensed with the Ohio Division of Wildlife for nuisance animal trapping.
Randy - Service Technician
Randy joined the Akron Pest Control team in 2017. He is the little brother of Ryan. He was a facilities manager for a large auto repair chain for many years. He also decided (through the positive feedback and influence from his brother) that he wanted to change his career and join a small family owned and operated business where his dedication and commitment would be appreciated. Randy has jumped into the pest control industry as if he was born to kill. He has been able to pick up the Akron Pest Control philosophy and techniques extremely well. He is currently the main commercial service technician but will soon be fully trained in Residential. Randy is licensed through the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a commercial applicator and he is licensed with the Ohio Division of Wildlife for nuisance animal trapping.
Kevin - Service Technician
Kevin is the newest member of Akron Pest Control. He is currently being trained in the Commercial pest control as well as wildlife trapping. Kevin is young and energetic. We all look forward to teaching him the Akron Pest Control philosophy as well as the best pest control techniques in the industry!
